Famous People's Houses in Silver Spring, Md - Annie Lebovitz

The famous photographer Annie Lebovitz lived in this split level house in Silver Spring.

Because of her father's career in the air force, Annie's Parents, Sam and Marilyn moved many many times.   Transfers sent the family throughout the country and to The Philippines; Mom and Dad finally landed in Silver Spring, Md.

Her parents owned this house in the Forest Knolls subdivision of Silver Spring, Md 20902 from 1962 to 1978. Forest Knolls is a tidy neighborhood of modern early 1960's split levels, and ramblers.

Annie Lebovitz attended Northwood High School in Silver Spring.

In 1977 her parents sold the split level and built a bigger custom house with a pool on a large corner lot in the very nearby Springbrook Forest Neighborhood of Silver Spring.

The house in Springbrook Forest was sold in 2007 after the death of Maryiln Leibowitz, Annie Leibovitz's mother.

In 2007 The Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington,DC  exhibited "A Photographers Life 1990-2005" through January 13, 2008.

Debbie - I know the house. It is right off Caddington. She was just a young girl back then. Thanks for the affirmation. Some folks think I just make this stuff up.

Who woulda' thought Deb? I'm enjoying your famous people homes - they are so normal, ordinary, basic, so like 'ours'. It's hitting a chord inside that isn't quite definable - maybe like a magic imparted in the knowledge or that ordinary people do great things, or........??

Thanks again!

Debbie - great idea!  Selling homes with a past!  (Shouldn't that warrant a larger yard sign? ;-)
